Mother Teresa said, “Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”  What a wonderful call to action for all of us.  While we may plan for the future and regret or cherish the past, what we have right now is today, and today requires living.  So what will you do today?  Will you paint a picture, go for a bike ride, read a story to a child, or teach a youth how to complete a quadratic equation?  Will you listen with an empathetic ear and guide a child as he or she talks his way through a challenge?  Will you be the kind of role model and mentor each child and youth need?  Every day you have the opportunity to live your life in a way that makes a difference, not just for you but the world and people around you.

So, set your goals and translate them into action.  The work you do really matters.  When you do your best, you help everyone understand that each and every one matters.  You may find this six minute video about goal setting with Stephen Covey interesting.  The energy that happens when we all understand “I Matter!
